Subcision

Description | Acne scars that appear crater-like are often caused by fibrotic bands pulling the skin downward. Subcision is a procedure that uses a blunt needle to release these fibrotic bands beneath the skin, lifting the depressed area and promoting smoother healing. It is particularly effective for “rolling-type” acne scars. Combining this with Dermapen 4 or hyaluronic acid injections can enhance the results. |
Risks | Bruising, swelling, pain, etc. |
Price | ¥30,000 for 1 scar (includes local anesthesia, 1cc hyaluronic acid, microcannula) (¥6,000 for each additional scar) |
Recommended for People Who:
- Want to treat uneven or bumpy skin.
- Want to improve acne scars that have formed deep indentations (craters).
- Have tried various acne scar treatments without seeing results.

SubcisionThis procedure is indicated for the treatment of rolling-type acne scars, which appear as gently depressed, crater-like irregularities in the skin. These scars are typically caused by fibrotic bands beneath the skin that pull the surface downward, creating a crater-like appearance. The procedure involves the use of a blunt-tipped cannula needle to cut and release the fibrous bands within the subcutaneous tissue that tether the skin downward. This allows the depressed area to be lifted, encouraging the skin to heal in a more elevated position and helping to maintain this improved contour over time.
▶
Subcision- Bruising, Swelling, and Pain: Bruising, swelling, and pain may occur for up to one to two weeks following the procedure.
- Hyperpigmentation at Needle Entry Sites: Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may develop at the needle insertion sites. While it typically improves over the course of several months, in some cases it may persist for a longer duration.
▶
Subcision- Lotion and Emulsion: You may begin using a non-irritating, alcohol-free lotion and emulsion immediately after the procedure.
- Cleansing and Makeup: You may resume washing your face, applying makeup, and using sunscreen (UV cream) 12 hours after the procedure.
- Bathing and Activities: Please refrain from vigorous exercise, sauna, hot baths, or alcohol consumption on the day of the procedure.
- Skincare: Please do not forcefully remove scabs. Cleanse your face gently and allow the scabs to fall off naturally. Avoid using hydroquinone or products containing alcohol-based cosmetics for approximately 1 week after the procedure, as they may irritate the skin. For the first 2 weeks, ensure proper moisturization and apply sun protection regularly.
- Antibiotics and Painkillers: After subcision, please take the prescribed antibiotics for 3 days, and use painkillers as necessary.
- Follow-up Treatments: Please wait at least 1 month before scheduling a follow-up treatment. Botulinum toxin injections and other procedures can be performed on areas not treated by this procedure on the same day. However, please wait at least 1 month after this procedure before undergoing any IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy or laser treatments.
- Other Concerns: If you have any questions or notice anything unusual, please do not hesitate to contact us.

For Enhanced Results
At CLASSY, our subcision treatment includes 1 cc of hyaluronic acid in the base price, allowing for more effective and longer-lasting results.
Subcision is a procedure that involves using a needle to release fibrous bands tethering the skin to the subcutaneous tissue. This helps elevate the depressed scars and promotes natural healing in a lifted position.
By injecting hyaluronic acid into the space created during the subcision, not only is the skin physically lifted, but the injected filler also helps prevent the released tissue from reattaching and creating new adhesions.
For optimal improvement of acne scars, combining subcision with other treatments such as Dermapen or Pico Fractional Laser can lead to even more effective outcomes.
