Pico Fractional Laser

DescriptionPicoSure fractional laser by Cynosure is a skin rejuvenation treatment effective for improving skin texture and fine lines.
RisksRedness, hyperpigmentation, white spots, etc.
PriceFirst-Time (Full Face): ¥33,000
Regular (Full Face): ¥44,000

Recommended for People Who:

  • Want to improve skin texture.
  • Have uneven skin from acne scars and want smoother skin.
  • Are concerned about fine lines.
  • Prefer non-surgical treatments and want to avoid scars.

What Is Pico Fractional Laser?

In recent years, fractional CO2 lasers have commonly been used for skin texture improvement. While effective, this type of treatment typically involves 1–2 days of noticeable redness, followed by 7–10 days of rough skin during the recovery period.

At our clinic, we use the PicoSure Laser by Cynosure with an advanced Focus Lens Array, a cutting-edge option for fractional laser treatment.
By attaching the Focus Lens to the PicoSure device, the laser beam is fractionated—allowing for a higher energy density to be delivered in a way that minimizes damage to the surrounding skin. This results in effective skin rejuvenation and fine line reduction with significantly less downtime compared to traditional fractional CO2 lasers.
Compared to standard Pico laser treatments (without the Focus Lens), Pico Fractional offers superior results and can shorten the overall treatment period.
While mild redness may appear for about one day, the rough texture and prolonged recovery commonly seen with CO2 lasers are significantly reduced or eliminated.

This advanced fractional laser treatment is effective for:
・Fine lines and wrinkles
・Uneven skin texture
・Acne scars
・Enlarged pores
To achieve the best results, we primarily offer treatment options that include the Focus Lens.

For targeted pigment spots (such as well-defined age spots or freckles), Pico Spot Laser treatment is recommended.

Features of Pico Fractional Laser

  • Non-surgical laser treatment — no scalpel involved
  • No skin incisions or wounds — treatment without cutting or scarring

Pico Fractional Laser (Skin Texture & Fine Line Treatment)

This treatment involves the use of a PicoSure laser equipped with a special focusing lens that increases energy density, which is then applied to the skin. It is a comprehensive skin rejuvenation laser treatment primarily aimed at improving skin texture. The treatment involves the phagocytic activity of immune cells, so we recommend evaluating the results over the course of several months. Treatment with PicoSure delivers significantly greater effectiveness compared to traditional Q-switched YAG or Ruby lasers. For targeted pigment spots (such as well-defined age spots or freckles), Pico Spot Laser treatment is recommended.

Pico Fractional Laser (Skin Texture & Fine Line Treatment)

  • Redness, Warmth, Itching, Swelling: Mild redness or warmth may occur following the treatment. These symptoms usually subside within a day, or a few days at most. In rare cases, swelling may be more noticeable. If you are concerned, please schedule a follow-up consultation.
  • Treatment Response: In rare cases, the treatment may not respond as expected. Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases. The number of sessions required and the degree of improvement in pigmentation, skin texture, and fine lines may vary between individuals.
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH): In some cases, pigmentation may become darker within a month after treatment. In rare cases, this darkening may exceed the original pigmentation. If this occurs, gradual improvement may be achieved with the use of oral medications or hydroquinone cream (additional fee applies).
  • Pimples: In rare cases, you may experience an increase in pimples. This is usually temporary, but in very rare instances, the condition may persist for a longer period of time.
  • Hypopigmentation (White Spots): In extremely rare cases, hypopigmentation may occur. If you notice any such changes, please be sure to inform us at your next visit.
Pico Fractional Laser (Skin Texture & Fine Line Treatment)

  • The Pico Fractional Laser treatment is most effective when received once a month. If you notice any darkening of pigmentation, please inform us at your next visit.
  • Medications: Oral medications are essential during the laser treatment period. The following are typically prescribed to enhance treatment outcomes and support recovery.
    ●Hythiol (L-cysteine)
Works with vitamin C to inhibit tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin synthesis, thereby helping to prevent pigmentation and promote the removal of existing melanin.
    ●Cinal (Vitamin C + Pantothenic acid)
Provides antioxidant effects that help suppress melanin synthesis.
    ●Tranexamic acid
Suppresses plasmin, a melanocyte-activating factor involved in melanin synthesis. As it is also a hemostatic agent, it should not be used by individuals with a history of thrombotic disorders or those taking oral contraceptives. Use for three consecutive months, followed by a break of at least one month. Discontinue if you experience side effects such as abdominal discomfort, swelling, stiff shoulders, or irregular menstruation.
    ●Juvela (Vitamin E)
Supports skin metabolism and circulation while providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits for pigmentation improvement.
  • UV Exposure: Please be sure to protect the treated area from ultraviolet (UV) exposure by using sunscreen or products such as U•Vlock.
  • Hydroquinone Cream: Please avoid using hydroquinone cream on the laser-treated areas for 1 week after the procedure.
  • Scabbing: In rare cases, scab-like formations, similar to mascara marks, may appear on the skin after the procedure. Please do not forcibly remove the scabs; instead, allow them to fall off naturally with gentle facial cleansing.
  • Skincare Products: Please refrain from using skincare products or medications that contain ingredients such as hydroquinone or retinol, which may cause peeling or redness, during the course of laser treatment.
  • Other Concerns: If you have any questions or notice anything unusual, please do not hesitate to contact us.

For Cool Down and Skin Improvement

For cooling down after Pico Fractional Laser treatment, we recommend our Skin Rejuvenation Treatment (Electroporation).

Unlike conventional iontophoresis or ultrasound-based delivery methods, this advanced Skin Rejuvenation Treatment (Electroporation) ionizes larger molecular weight active ingredients that could not be effectively absorbed before. By applying a mild electrical voltage, it enables efficient penetration of these beneficial substances into the skin. This promotes improved skin texture, brighter skin tone, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Precautions

  • Hypopigmentation (White Spots): In rare cases, white spots may occur, and their treatment can be difficult.
  • Treatment Response: In rare cases, the treatment may not respond as expected. Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases. The number of sessions required and the degree of improvement in pigmentation, skin texture, and fine lines may vary between individuals.
  • Medications: Oral medications are required during the laser treatment period.
  • UV Protection: Please be sure to take sufficient measures against UV exposure by using sunscreen and products such as U•Vlock.
  • Skincare Products: Please refrain from using skincare products or medications that contain ingredients such as hydroquinone or retinol, which may cause peeling or redness, during the course of laser treatment.

About Melasma

Pico Fractional Laser treatment is not applied to areas with melasma, as there is a risk of worsening the condition.

If you are concerned about melasma, we recommend Pico Laser Toning or Oral Medications as alternative treatment options.
