What Is Total Facelift?

A total facelift is a surgical procedure that lifts the entire mid-to-lower face by making an incision along the natural contour in front of the ear, including around the tragus (the small cartilage in front of the ear canal). The SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System)—a layer of facial muscle fascia and connective tissue—is lifted and tightened, and the excess skin is removed to create a more youthful appearance. Sutures are removed 1 week after the procedure. Swelling typically does not extend to the front of the face, and for those with long hair, the incision area in front of the ear can be easily hidden—often making the surgery less noticeable than thread lift procedures.

Features of Total Facelift

  • Lifts not only the skin, but also the underlying SMAS layer, offering longer-lasting results!
  • Incisions are made around the ears, which can be easily hidden by longer hair!
