What Is V-Face Contouring (Cheek Sideline Lift)?
This procedure involves the insertion of specialized absorbable threads with cogs (hook-like structures) underneath the skin using a fine needle to improve skin sagging along the jawline (cheek sideline). The lifting effect can be described as similar to gently supporting the area with the palm of your hand. In addition to the mechanical lifting, the threads stimulate collagen production around the insertion sites, which may contribute to improved skin texture and a delay in visible signs of aging. Please note that the effects vary among individuals. We generally recommend repeating the procedure once every 6 to 12 months.

At CLASSY, we use PCL (Polycaprolactone) threads, which naturally dissolve over the course of 2 to 3 years.
Some other clinics may use threads made from PDO (Polydioxanone) or PLLA (Poly-L-lactic acid) instead.
*PDO threads: dissolve in about 6 months.
*PLLA threads: dissolve in about 12 to 18 months.

V-Face Contouring (Cheek Sideline Lift with Dissolvable Threads)- Pain, Swelling, and Bruising: These symptoms typically subside within about one week, although they may take longer in some cases. Occasionally, bruising (blue discoloration) as subcutaneous hemorrhage may appear on the cheeks but usually resolves within approximately two weeks. In very rare cases, swelling of the parotid gland may occur. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to return for a follow-up consultation.
- Needle puncture marks: One small puncture will be made on each side within the hairline at the temples. These typically heal within about a week.
- Infection: Although rare, there is a possibility of infection. If you experience increased swelling or other unusual symptoms, medical treatment may be required. In such cases, please return for a follow-up consultation.
- Tightness, Skin Irregularities, and Thread-Related Issues: You may experience sensations of tightness, skin irregularities, dimpling, or thread-related issues such as a visible or palpable thread beneath the skin. In very rare cases, the end of a thread may protrude through the skin. If you notice any of these symptoms, please return for a follow-up consultation. Some cases may be corrected manually, while others may require minor surgical revision.

V-Face Contouring (Cheek Sideline Lift with Dissolvable Threads)- Cleansing and Makeup: You may gently wash your face, shampoo your hair, take a shower and apply makeup starting from the day of the surgery. However, please refrain from taking a bath until 3 days after the surgery. Please avoid hair coloring for at least 1 week after the surgery.
- Driving and Operating Vehicles: Please refrain from driving a car, riding a motorcycle, and operating a bicycle or any other vehicle at least on the day of the surgery. For several days after the surgery, please choose soft, non-irritating foods.
- Antibiotics and Painkillers: Please take the prescribed antibiotics for one day. Painkillers should be taken as needed, with a dosage of 1 or 2 tablets per dose, and a maximum of 3 tablets per day. It is advisable to avoid taking painkillers on an empty stomach.
- Facial Massage: Please refrain from vigorous facial cleansing, facial or scalp massage, and dental treatment for 1 month after the surgery.
- Effects of Surgery: Immediately after the procedure, the effect will appear more lifted than the final result. Over the course of about 1 month, the lifted area will gradually settle into its final position. Following that, the results will naturally continue to change at a pace determined by your individual aging process.
- Variation in Results: The speed at which the skin sags and the perception of youthful appearance vary greatly between individuals and are subject to personal factors. Therefore, it is difficult to predict the exact duration of the effects of the procedure. If there is little or no change, or if the results revert more quickly than expected, please note that re-treatment will be charged at the standard fee. In cases where the results return quickly, we recommend considering a higher-grade treatment for the next procedure. Please allow at least 3 months before undergoing re-treatment in the same area.
- Deformity: If any visible deformity occurs, we will provide corrective treatment free of charge within 1 year after the initial surgery.
- Other Concerns: If you have any questions or notice anything unusual, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thread Lift with Dissolvable Threads: More than Just Temporary Effects
The effects of a thread lift don’t end when the threads dissolve. While the dissolvable threads gradually break down over time, they actively stimulate collagen production in the surrounding tissue. Your body naturally forms a supportive collagen network around each thread. Even after the threads are absorbed, this collagen remains, reinforcing the skin’s structure and helping to slow visible signs of aging like sagging. The threads do their job and then fully disappear—leaving behind no foreign material, only your body’s own rejuvenating support.
In contrast, we avoid non-dissolvable threads. Permanent threads, which stay in the same place for many years, lose their lifting power over time and become nothing more than foreign objects under the skin. They also carry long-term risks, including delayed infections.
Aging is inevitable. In 10 or 20 years, your face will naturally change. That’s why our approach to anti-aging care is to provide customized treatments as your needs evolve—with the right number, placement, and length of threads for each stage of aging. This method is far safer and more adaptable than using permanent threads.

FAQ
Will there be any visible scars after V-face contouring?
The entry points for the threads are located within the hairline at the temples, so scars are virtually invisible.
There is minimal downtime, and makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure, making it possible to go out the same day.
What kind of threads are used for thread lifts?
We use special dissolvable threads with tiny cogs (barbs).
These threads gradually dissolve after the procedure, stimulating collagen production around each thread, which helps suppress sagging and signs of aging.
How long is the downtime after thread lift?
Downtime is very short. Many patients can go out without a mask immediately after treatment. However, the more threads used, the longer the downtime may be. Minor bruising or swelling may occur but generally subsides within about a week.
Is the thread lift procedure painful?
Our original techniques minimize pain and swelling. We also offer various anesthesia options, including nitrous oxide sedation and intravenous anesthesia.
How many threads are usually needed for thread lift?
The number of threads depends on your sagging condition. We will provide a personalized recommendation after evaluation.
Is suture removal necessary after thread lift?
No. The threads are made of dissolvable material and do not require removal.
What treatments are available for sagging cheeks?
Depending on the severity of sagging, options include thread lifts such as the
V-face contouring (cheek sideline lift with threads) or
cheek lift (cheek line lift with threads), or surgical lifts involving skin removal such as the
total facelift or
mini facelift. We will evaluate your condition during consultation and recommend the most suitable treatment.
What treatments are available for sagging under the chin?
Depending on the condition, options include surgical lifts that tighten the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) and remove excess skin such as the
total facelift,
submental facelift, or
neck lift, fat removal via the
submental liposuction, and injectable treatments like
botulinum toxin (Botox). We will recommend the most appropriate treatment after examining your condition.
