This botulinum toxin type A product is derived from animal sources (bovine, sheep, and pig) and contains human serum albumin. While the manufacturing process includes rigorous screening, the risk of unknown disease transmission—such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease—is considered extremely rare. In the U.S., botulinum toxin was first used for strabismus (crossed eyes) in 1977. Since then, it has become widely used for relaxing muscle tension. In the field of aesthetics, it has received FDA approval and was used in over 1.6 million treatments in the year 2001 alone, with no reported cases of infection to date. However, because this is a biological product, the possibility of unknown risks cannot be entirely ruled out. Please note that in Japan, only injections into the glabellar lines (frown lines) and crow’s feet using Botox Vista are officially approved. All other aesthetic uses are considered off-label.

  • Facial Expression Lines: Reduces wrinkles caused by muscle movement. Effects usually begin to appear within about 3 days and typically last for around 4 months.
  • Hyperhidrosis (Underarm Sweating): Injections into the underarms can significantly reduce sweating. Effects start within a few days and last about 4 months. In cases of excessive sweating, discomfort may return within 2 months.
  • Calves: Injections into the gastrocnemius muscles can slim the calves by inducing muscle atrophy. Results may take about 4 weeks to appear. Some people may feel slightly restricted when climbing stairs, but this does not interfere with daily life. For optimal results, 3–4 treatments at regular intervals are recommended. Individual results and duration may vary.
  • Jaw Angles (Masseter Muscles): Weakens the chewing muscles to create a slimmer face. Effects begin to show around 4 weeks after treatment. Chewing hard foods may become slightly difficult, but normal meals are unaffected. Repeating the procedure 3–5 times over several months enhances and prolongs the effect. In some cases, nasolabial folds may deepen, or cheeks may appear sunken in thinner individuals. Additional correction treatments may be needed in such cases (charged separately).
  • Salivary Glands: Atrophying the submandibular and parotid glands can lead to a more defined jawline and slimmer facial appearance.
  • Shoulder Slimming / Shoulder Stiffness Relief: Injections into the trapezius muscles can reduce shoulder bulk and help relieve stiffness. Effects typically last about 4 months. In rare cases, tension may shift to other areas.
  • Nefertiti Lift: Relaxes the platysma muscle to create a more contoured and lifted appearance under the chin and along the jawline.

  • Swelling and Bruising: Mild swelling at the injection site may occur but typically subsides within a few hours. Bruising (blue discoloration) as subcutaneous hemorrhage may develop at the injection site and usually fades within approximately 2 weeks.
  • Facial Stiffness and Heaviness: Depending on the treated area, you may experience temporary facial stiffness, heaviness, or sensation of tightness. These effects generally improve over a period of about 3 months.
  • Infection: As this product is derived from biological sources, there is a potential risk of infection; however, such cases are extremely rare and have been rarely reported.

What Is Botulinum Toxin Injection into Salivary Glands (Parotid & Submandibular Glands)?

This treatment involves injecting botulinum toxin into the salivary glands (parotid and submandibular glands), which causes the glands to shrink and helps define the jawline. It is an effective option for achieving a slimmer facial appearance. The effects begin to appear gradually over the course of about 1 month after the procedure, and typically last for around 3 to 6 months. However, if the treatment is repeated 3 to 5 times at intervals of several months, the effects tend to last significantly longer in most cases. Since the product is biologically derived, we ask patients to avoid pregnancy for 3 months following the procedure.

What Is Botulinum Toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a type of protein derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It works by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, helping to relax muscle tension.
It has long been used in ophthalmology and neurology to treat conditions such as eyelid and facial spasms.

BOTOX VISTA, produced by Allergan Japan, is a botulinum toxin product used by over 10 million people worldwide. It is the only botulinum toxin formulation in Japan officially approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for treating frown lines (between eyebrows) and crow’s feet. With over 20 years of clinical use and a well-established safety profile in the U.S., it is known for its high quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

We also offer a more affordable option: Korean-made botulinum toxin approved by the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Its safety has been well established, with over 15 years of use in cosmetic plastic surgery and dermatology across Europe and the U.S.

By injecting Botox into the enlarged masseter muscles, parotid glands, or submandibular glands, the treated areas gradually shrink, resulting in a slimmer jawline and a smaller facial appearance.

Note: As this is a biologically derived product, we recommend avoiding pregnancy for at least 3 months following treatment.

Features of Botulinum Toxin Injection
