Recommended for People Who:
Want to create beautiful double eyelids from monolids or partial double eyelids.
Do not want to undergo incisional double eyelid surgery.
Are tired of using eyelid glue or tape.
Want an easy, eyelid-glue-like method to achieve double eyelids.
Want a natural result that is not noticeable to others.
The double eyelid surgery (buried suture method) is a procedure in which sutures are placed underneath the upper eyelid skin to create a double eyelid crease, after administering local anesthesia.
Warranty Period: 1 Year Warranty Coverage: If the double eyelid disappears or if you wish to adjust the eyelid width, we offer up to two re-surgeries (per eye) within the warranty period (nitrous oxide anesthesia is charged separately). Treatment for issues such as infections or suture exposure is covered (this does not count as part of the re-surgery warranty). *Exclusions from Warranty: Corrections to shapes that cannot be medically adjusted to meet your wishes, cases where the double eyelid is maintained, suture removal, and if the clinic closes.
Swelling: The degree of swelling after the surgery may vary depending on the individual double eyelid width and skin thickness. While swelling typically subsides within a few days to 1 week, we recommend monitoring the condition for at least 1 month after the surgery. In some cases, it may take several months for the eyelids to appear fully natural.
Bruising: Occasionally, bruising (blue discoloration) as subcutaneous hemorrhage may appear but usually resolves within approximately 2 weeks without the need for treatment.
Pigmentation at Needle Entry Sites: Occasionally, the needle marks on the surface of the upper eyelids may result in pigmentation that remains visible for an extended period.
Corneal Damage: In rare cases, the sutures may cause scratches on the cornea, requiring ophthalmologic treatment or suture removal.
Makeup: You may apply makeup to your face, excluding the eye area, on the day of the surgery. Eye makeup can be applied starting from the following day. However, if you experience pain or discomfort, please wait a few extra days before applying eye makeup.
Cleansing and Bathing: You may gently wash your face, shampoo your hair, and take a shower starting from the day of the surgery. However, please refrain from taking a bath until 3 days after the surgery. Please refrain from drinking alcohol for at least 1 week after the surgery.
Driving and Operating Vehicles: Please refrain from driving a car, riding a motorcycle, and operating a bicycle or any other vehicle at least on the day of the surgery.
Contact Lenses: You may resume wearing contact lenses from the day after the surgery. If you experience significant discomfort, such as pain or a gritty sensation while wearing them, please refrain from using contact lenses for a few more days.
Antibiotic Eye Drops: Please apply the prescribed antibiotic eye drops (Ophthalon) 2 to 3 times a day. If you are wearing contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying the eye drops. Painkillers should be taken as needed, with a dosage of one or two tablets per dose, and a maximum of three tablets per day. Please avoid taking painkillers on an empty stomach.
Sensation After Surgery: You may feel a sensation of foreign body or tightness in the eyes for a while after the surgery, but this should gradually subside over time. You may also experience an increase in eye discharge temporarily. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to return to our clinic for a follow-up consultation.
Loss of Double Eyelid Line: In some cases, the created double eyelid line may fade or disappear over time.
Complications from Sutures: In the long term after the surgery, you may occasionally experience a foreign body sensation or pain in the eye. In some cases, a nodule with redness and pus may develop, and in very rare instances, the suture knot may become visible or even exposed. If you notice any of these symptoms, please return for a follow-up consultation.
Other Concerns: If you have any questions or notice anything unusual, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What Is Double Eyelid Surgery (Buried Suture Method)?
A minimally invasive procedure where very fine threads are inserted into the upper eyelid to create a double eyelid line (crease).
Depending on the technique, the line is supported by “dots” or “lines.”
Types of Double Eyelid Surgery (Buried Suture Method)
● Buried Suture Method (High-grade)
▶Details of High-grade Method
This method uses ultra-fine sutures, reducing the chance of visible bumps when the eyes are closed. Extremely thin needles are also used for anesthesia and threading to minimize bruising, swelling, and recovery time. This technique focuses on precision and minimal downtime.
▶Details of Quick Liner Method® In this method, an ultra-fine looped suture is gently placed along the eyelid crease to form a double eyelid. Because the suture is not tightly knotted but loosely placed in a line, it provides excellent stability with minimal swelling compared to traditional “multi-point” techniques. Among our non-incisional methods, Quick Liner® is the least likely to cause swelling.
▶Details of Eternal Liner Method® This technique uses multiple ultra-fine looped sutures, intertwined like a chain beneath the eyelid to create a strong and stable double fold. It supports the crease along a continuous line, reducing the chance of it fading or loosening over time. Compared to point-fixation methods, this approach minimizes the risk of thread bumps and avoids direct contact between the sutures and the eyeball. The threads can also be removed more easily later if desired. Eternal Liner® offers the highest long-term stability among our non-incisional techniques.

Much shorter downtime compared to incisional (cutting) methods.
Minimal swelling and almost no visible scarring, making it hard for others to notice!
Varies depending on eyelid thickness and crease width. Swelling generally subsides within a few days to 1 week, but full settling may take at least 1 month. In some cases, a natural appearance may take a few months.
Bruising
Temporary bruising (blue discoloration) on the eyelids may occur, usually resolving naturally within about 2 weeks./td>

Precautions
Corneal Damage: In rare cases, the sutures may cause scratches on the cornea, requiring ophthalmologic treatment or suture removal.
Complications from Sutures: In the long term after the surgery, you may occasionally experience a foreign body sensation or pain in the eye. In some cases, a nodule with redness and pus may develop, and in very rare instances, the suture knot may become visible or even exposed.
Suture-Related Nodules: With the High-grade and Eternal Liner® methods, small nodules may be formed and become noticeable under the skin. These can be caused by the suture knots, the tissue tightened by the sutures, or collagen formed around the sutured area.
Indentation (Depression): With the Quick Liner® method, a small point-like depression may occur in areas where the looped thread passes close to the skin surface. This is usually temporary but can occasionally persist.
Suture Visibility or Irregularity: Also with the Quick Liner® method, especially in patients with thin eyelid skin, minor irregularities such as slight bulging or thread visibility through the skin may rarely appear.

FAQ
What is the difference between 1-point and 2-point fixation in buried-suture double eyelid surgery?
One-point fixation is usually for patients who already have some double eyelid line (crease) but it is unstable, or for those who previously had 2-point fixation but part of the line has loosened. For patients with no double eyelid line or those creating a completely new line, we generally recommend at least 2-point fixation. While 2-point fixation is usually sufficient, depending on your eyelid condition and desired line, we may suggest 3-point fixation.
Does buried-suture double eyelid surgery last forever?
Results vary from person to person. Some patients have results lasting semi-permanently, while others experience the line (crease) loosening within a few months. Factors include the width of the line, thickness of the eyelid skin, and the type of suture method used. The doctor will explain the details during your consultation.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the surgery. We continuously work to minimize discomfort by improving our methods and choosing the best anesthesia. If you are particularly sensitive to pain, we also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation free of charge for first-time patients. (初回無料)
Will there be swelling after buried-suture double eyelid surgery?
Swelling varies depending on the line (crease) width and eyelid thickness. Generally, swelling subsides within a few days to one week, but the full natural appearance may take up to a month or sometimes several months. Our clinic offers the Quick-liner method, which tends to cause less swelling. The doctor will explain this during your consultation.
Can I have buried-suture double eyelid surgery while breastfeeding?
It is possible during breastfeeding. However, because the skin may be more prone to pigmentation and needle marks could leave discoloration, we recommend waiting until after breastfeeding if possible.
I had buried-suture double eyelid surgery at another clinic several years ago but want to change the line (crease) width. Can I have the surgery again?
Yes, it is possible. Generally, we will remove the previous sutures before redoing the surgery, but we need to assess your eyelid condition first.
What if I don't get the desired double eyelid shape after buried-suture double eyelid surgery? Can it be corrected?
We offer a one-year warranty period during which corrections can be made if the line (crease) is different from the intended width, if the line loosens, if sutures need to be removed, or if any complications arise. (Please note that anesthesia fees are separate.) Changing the line width while maintaining the original crease line is not covered under the warranty. Some correction requests may be declined if they cannot meet your desired outcome.
I regularly use eyelid glue (eye tape). Can I still have buried-suture double eyelid surgery?
Depending on your eyelid condition, it may be difficult to perform the surgery. Long-term use of eyelid glue can cause inflammation, hardening, thickening, or stretching of the skin. We recommend consulting with us to see if the surgery is suitable before any issues develop.
Can buried-suture double eyelid surgery be performed on heavy or swollen eyelids?
The surgery can be done on most eyelid types. However, depending on the line (crease) width and eyelid condition, achieving the desired shape might be difficult. In such cases, we may suggest combining with upper eyelid fat removal or using the incisional method. Please consult with us to evaluate your eyelids and discuss your preferences.
What is the difference between buried suture method (non-incisional) and incisional method for double eyelid surgery?
The buried suture method creates a double eyelid line by using threads, while the incisional method involves making a cut with a scalpel to form the double eyelid line. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, which will be explained in detail during your consultation.
Can I have double eyelid surgery on the same day as the consultation? Do I need to make a reservation?
Generally, it is possible to have the surgery on the same day as your consultation. However, depending on the length of the consultation and the schedule of other patients, the surgery may need to be scheduled for another day. Please inform us when making your reservation if you wish to have the surgery on the same day. Our clinic operates by appointment only, so please be sure to mention your preference for same-day surgery when booking.
Can I have double eyelid surgery on each eye on separate days?
It is possible to have the procedure on each eye on different days. However, in this case, you will need to pay for each eye separately. The cost for one eye is 60% of the price for both eyes, so it will be more expensive than having both eyes done at the same time. Please understand this in advance.
