The double eyelid surgery (buried suture method) is a procedure in which sutures are placed underneath the upper eyelid skin to create a double eyelid crease, after administering local anesthesia.
Warranty Period: 1 Year
Warranty Coverage:
If the double eyelid disappears or if you wish to adjust the eyelid width, we offer up to two re-surgeries (per eye) within the warranty period (nitrous oxide anesthesia is charged separately).
Treatment for issues such as infections or suture exposure is covered (this does not count as part of the re-surgery warranty).
*Exclusions from Warranty: Corrections to shapes that cannot be medically adjusted to meet your wishes, cases where the double eyelid is maintained, suture removal, and if the clinic closes.
- Swelling: The degree of swelling after the surgery may vary depending on the individual double eyelid width and skin thickness. While swelling typically subsides within a few days to 1 week, we recommend monitoring the condition for at least 1 month after the surgery. In some cases, it may take several months for the eyelids to appear fully natural.
- Bruising: Occasionally, bruising (blue discoloration) as subcutaneous hemorrhage may appear but usually resolves within approximately 2 weeks without the need for treatment.
- Pigmentation at Needle Entry Sites: Occasionally, the needle marks on the surface of the upper eyelids may result in pigmentation that remains visible for an extended period.
- Corneal Damage: In rare cases, the sutures may cause scratches on the cornea, requiring ophthalmologic treatment or suture removal.
- Makeup: You may apply makeup to your face, excluding the eye area, on the day of the surgery. Eye makeup can be applied starting from the following day. However, if you experience pain or discomfort, please wait a few extra days before applying eye makeup.
- Cleansing and Bathing: You may gently wash your face, shampoo your hair, and take a shower starting from the day of the surgery. However, please refrain from taking a bath until 3 days after the surgery. Please refrain from drinking alcohol for at least 1 week after the surgery.
- Driving and Operating Vehicles: Please refrain from driving a car, riding a motorcycle, and operating a bicycle or any other vehicle at least on the day of the surgery.
- Contact Lenses: You may resume wearing contact lenses from the day after the surgery. If you experience significant discomfort, such as pain or a gritty sensation while wearing them, please refrain from using contact lenses for a few more days.
- Antibiotic Eye Drops: Please apply the prescribed antibiotic eye drops (Ophthalon) 2 to 3 times a day. If you are wearing contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying the eye drops. Painkillers should be taken as needed, with a dosage of one or two tablets per dose, and a maximum of three tablets per day. Please avoid taking painkillers on an empty stomach.
- Sensation After Surgery: You may feel a sensation of foreign body or tightness in the eyes for a while after the surgery, but this should gradually subside over time. You may also experience an increase in eye discharge temporarily. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to return to our clinic for a follow-up consultation.
- Loss of Double Eyelid Line: In some cases, the created double eyelid line may fade or disappear over time.
- Complications from Sutures: In the long term after the surgery, you may occasionally experience a foreign body sensation or pain in the eye. In some cases, a nodule with redness and pus may develop, and in very rare instances, the suture knot may become visible or even exposed. If you notice any of these symptoms, please return for a follow-up consultation.
- Other Concerns: If you have any questions or notice anything unusual, please do not hesitate to contact us.
