What Is Removal of Mole & Wart?

This procedure removes moles and warts from the skin.
For small lesions, we typically use the punch excision method. For larger lesions (5 mm or more in diameter), surgical excision with sutures is often performed.

Treatment Details

Procedure Time	Approximately10 minutes.
Pain	Minimal or none.
Swelling	Swelling may occur but usually subsides within about 2 weeks.
Bruising	Bruising may occur but usually fades within about 2 weeks.
Scarring	In cases where surgical excision and suturing is performed, a scar will remain. In rare cases, hypertrophic scars or keloids may develop. However, compared to the redness or indentation left by the punch excision method, surgical scars may be easier to conceal with makeup and offer the advantage of a very low risk of recurrence.
Anesthesia	Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or intravenous anesthesia can be provided upon request.
Suture Removal	If the lesion is removed by surgical excision and suturing, please return for suture removal 7 days after the procedure.
Follow-up Visits	If the lesion is removed by surgical excision and suturing, please return for suture removal 7 days after the procedure.
Hospitalization	Not necessary.

Precautions

Depression (Indentation): In the case of punch excision, an indentation may remain.
Recurrence: Especially with punch excision, recurrence of the lesion may occur.
Skin Texture Changes: The area where the mole or wart was removed may not return to the original skin texture. You may experience differences in tanning, hair loss, skin texture changes, or persistent pigmentation changes.
Suture Exposure: In rare cases after excision and suturing, sutures placed beneath the skin may become exposed over time. If this occurs, please return for a follow-up consultation so the sutures can be properly removed.
